MINUTEMAN USES A COMBINATION OF FULL-SIZE LIFT GATE AND RAMP TRUCKS.

The lift gate trucks are especially helpful for low profile sports cars. The vehicle simply drives onto the elevator lift gate and it is elevated to the level of the trailer. This enables the car to drive straight into the trailer so that it can be parked in its berth for the trip. Special straps are then used to go over the tire tread, thus restraining the vehicle without straining any suspension, frame or drive line components. By using this technique the vehicle is allowed to “float” on its own suspension without stressing any of the above mentioned components. Partitions and car covers then protect the car from soiling, or any potential leaks. Minuteman Transport does not “depot” cars after pickup. Once loaded they are seldom moved inside the trailer until they arrive safe and sound, at the destination. The theory is simple, the less handling, the less possibility for any mishaps.

Ramp trucks are sometimes more versatile for oversized vehicle such as limousines where underside clearance is not critical, although Porsches and similar vehicles can easily be loaded and unloaded on these trailers because of the very shallow angle of attack (or approach) on the ramps. Vehicle tie down restraint straps are used on board these trailers also.
